ARK Invest added roughly $17 million of Coinbase and Circle shares across two trading sessions while reducing its Bullish position and making a smaller purchase of Robinhood. According to ARK’s official daily trade disclosures, the firm bought a combined 64,208 Coinbase shares and 110,551 Circle shares on October 30 and November 2 across ARKK, ARKW and ARKF. ARK’s notices report share quantities rather than transaction prices, making the associated dollar amounts estimates rather than disclosed execution values.
The activity was split across both sessions. On October 30, ARK bought 39,418 Coinbase shares and 74,894 Circle shares while selling 238,373 Bullish shares. On November 2, it added another 24,790 Coinbase shares and 35,657 Circle shares, sold 104,172 Bullish shares and purchased 7,703 Robinhood shares through ARKF. Across the two days, ARK accumulated about $9 million of Coinbase and $8 million of Circle while selling roughly $8 million of Bullish, based on closing-price estimates.
Coinbase Buying Follows Q3 Earnings
The purchases came immediately after Coinbase reported third-quarter results on October 29. Coinbase posted $719 million in net income and $333 million in adjusted EBITDA, while subscription and services represented 49% of net revenue. Average USDC held in Coinbase products reached a record $22 billion, and prediction markets exceeded $200 million in annualized revenue. ARK increased its Coinbase position after a quarter in which non-spot businesses accounted for a larger portion of the exchange’s operating mix. Coinbase nevertheless reported softer crypto spot volume, which fell from $146.4 billion in Q2 to $134.5 billion in Q3.
That diversification has become increasingly relevant as Coinbase expands beyond conventional spot trading into derivatives, stablecoins, prediction markets and tokenized assets. The company’s policy exposure remains significant as well, particularly after the CLARITY Act’s Senate setback shifted attention toward SEC and CFTC rulemaking. ARK’s trade disclosure itself, however, gives no reason for the Coinbase purchases, so the earnings release provides timing and business context rather than proof of investment motive.
Circle presents a different timing profile. The company is scheduled to report third-quarter results on November 4, meaning ARK increased its position before seeing the new quarterly financials. Circle remains closely tied to USDC economics while expanding payments and blockchain infrastructure, against a regulatory backdrop in which the GENIUS Act is reshaping stablecoin market access ahead of 2027. The November 2 Circle purchase therefore preceded its Q3 earnings rather than responding to them.
Bullish Sale Does Not Establish a Risk-Off Strategy
ARK simultaneously reduced Bullish by 342,545 shares across the two sessions. Of that amount, 104,172 shares were sold on November 2 as BLSH closed at $22.54, down 5.69% for the day. The Bullish reduction is an observable portfolio change, but ARK did not characterize it as a risk-management move or say it was reallocating the proceeds directly into Coinbase and Circle. Its own trade-notification policy cautions that the files are unofficial, unreconciled records of portfolio adjustments and are not comprehensive records of every fund transaction.
Robinhood was a much smaller addition, with ARKF buying 7,703 shares valued around $646,000 using the November 2 close. The company continues to expand across crypto and tokenized markets, while CEO Vlad Tenev has recently argued that temporary U.S. tokenization exemptions may be insufficient for long-term institutional commitments. The Robinhood transaction was only a fraction of ARK’s combined Coinbase and Circle buying and should not be treated as an equivalent portfolio move.
The two-day pattern therefore shows ARK increasing three crypto-linked equities while reducing another, but it does not establish a disclosed sector thesis behind those changes. The confirmed shift is quantitative: 64,208 COIN and 110,551 CRCL shares added, 342,545 BLSH shares removed, and a smaller 7,703-share HOOD purchase. Future holdings disclosures will show whether those trades develop into a sustained reallocation or remain short-term portfolio adjustments.
