Mirae Asset Issues Tokenized Funding Notes on Solana

Mirae Asset Securities (HK) has completed an issuance of six-month, U.S. dollar-denominated floating-rate funding notes on Solana, extending its structured-note business onto public blockchain infrastructure. According to the official Mirae Asset Securities announcement, the notes were issued under the firm’s $3 billion Guaranteed Structured Note Programme and distributed by Marketnode to eligible institutional investors in Hong Kong. The Solana Foundation supported the transaction.

Mirae handled token issuance, payments and lifecycle management through its proprietary digital infrastructure rather than outsourcing the tokenization layer. The transaction therefore moves the firm’s internal tokenization stack from development into an executed capital-markets workflow, covering issuance through subsequent servicing. The placement was private and limited to eligible professional investors under Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Ordinance; the notes were neither authorized nor registered with the Securities and Futures Commission.

In-House Infrastructure Handles the Note Lifecycle

The instrument has a six-month maturity and floating interest rate, but Mirae’s English-language announcement does not disclose the coupon, reference benchmark, number of investors, token standard or Solana contract address. The $3 billion figure refers to the ceiling of Mirae’s broader structured-note programme, not the capital raised through this individual blockchain issuance. That distinction is important because programme capacity does not measure the amount tokenized or distributed through Solana.

Separate South Korean reports citing Mirae put its latest digital-bond issuance at $12.5 million and say both Solana and Ethereum were used. Those disclosures do not establish that the full $12.5 million corresponds specifically to the Solana placement described in the international announcement, which does not mention Ethereum or disclose an issuance value. The safest reading is that Mirae completed a broader $12.5 million digital-bond issuance while publicly detailing a Solana-based institutional distribution through Marketnode.

Marketnode’s role centered on distribution rather than issuance. The Singapore-regulated digital-market infrastructure operator connected the tokenized notes with eligible investors, while Mirae retained control of the product and lifecycle infrastructure. That separation between manufacturing, tokenization and distribution illustrates how existing structured products can be moved onto blockchain rails without replacing their underlying legal structure. Hong Kong is simultaneously developing broader tokenized bond settlement infrastructure through CMU OmniClear, reinforcing the region’s focus on regulated digital capital markets.

Solana Expands Its Institutional Asset Footprint

The transaction adds another regulated financial instrument to Solana’s growing real-world asset footprint. The network has already attracted tokenized commodities including institutional-grade gold products, alongside tokenized funds and equities. Mirae’s issuance differs because it represents short-duration corporate funding notes rather than a fund share, commodity claim or tokenized stock.

Hong Kong has also become increasingly relevant to Solana’s institutional expansion. The city recently named Solana Company a strategic enterprise, with plans for regional validator and advisory operations. Meanwhile, Solana’s tokenized RWA balances have remained near record levels despite volatility elsewhere in the SOL market. Those developments establish expanding infrastructure and product availability, although they should not be treated as evidence of equal adoption across every tokenized asset.

The clearest milestone is operational: its Hong Kong subsidiary has successfully used proprietary technology to issue and manage tokenized debt while Marketnode handled institutional distribution on Solana. Whether that model scales will depend on subsequent issuance sizes, repeat investor participation and expansion into additional structured products rather than the existence of a single completed placement.
