Fasset Hits $1B Valuation as SBI Leads $68M Series C

Fasset has reached a $1 billion valuation after raising $68 million in a Series C round led by Japan’s SBI Group, giving the stablecoin-focused neobank fresh capital to expand its cross-border financial infrastructure. The round follows a $51 million Series B completed in May, bringing Fasset’s 2026 fundraising total to $119 million. The financing places Fasset in unicorn territory while deepening its relationship with one of Japan’s largest financial groups.

In its official August 24 announcement, Fasset said it now processes more than $40 billion in annualized transaction volume, serves more than 3 million wallets and works with over 1,000 enterprises across 125 countries. The company plans to use the capital to expand Own Network and invest further in AI systems supporting corridor banking, stablecoin settlement and tokenized assets. Those operating figures are company-reported metrics rather than independently audited financial results.

SBI Backing Deepens Fasset’s Cross-Border Strategy

SBI’s involvement builds on an existing commercial relationship. In an official June disclosure, SBI Holdings said it had made a strategic investment in Fasset in May and that SBI Remit had signed an agreement with the company to develop next-generation international remittance infrastructure. The Series C therefore extends a partnership already focused on stablecoin-powered cross-border settlement rather than creating one from scratch.

Fasset describes Own Network as financial infrastructure connecting banks, telecom companies, payment providers, liquidity providers, custodians and settlement networks across more than 100 banking corridors. Stablecoins are used in parts of that system as settlement rails, while AI helps route transactions according to variables including cost, speed and availability. The model is designed to connect digital settlement infrastructure with the local financial rails operating at each endpoint.

That architecture gives Fasset a broader scope than a conventional crypto trading platform. The company positions its products around receiving, holding, moving, spending and investing across currencies and asset classes, with Own Network operating beneath those services. Fasset’s corporate overview also describes Own Network as an L2 infrastructure layer. Its growth strategy increasingly depends on integrating blockchain settlement into familiar banking and payment experiences rather than requiring customers to manage the underlying infrastructure directly.

Scale Raises the Execution Bar

The new funding gives Fasset additional capacity to expand across emerging markets, but cross-border growth also increases operational complexity. Every additional corridor introduces dependencies involving banking partners, liquidity, compliance, custody and settlement availability. Higher transaction scale can strengthen Fasset’s network, but it also raises the operational cost of failures in routing, compliance or liquidity management.

SBI’s participation could broaden Fasset’s access to established financial networks. SBI Holdings’ corporate site lists an August 24 notice concerning an additional investment in Fasset, while its June announcement identified stablecoin-based international remittances as a strategic area of cooperation. That alignment gives Fasset a stronger institutional channel as it builds connections between Japan and high-growth markets across Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

The $1 billion valuation ultimately depends on whether Fasset can convert its reported transaction scale into durable economics. The company says annualized volume has surpassed $40 billion, but valuation resilience will depend on revenue quality, margins, regulatory execution and infrastructure reliability as its footprint expands. The Series C confirms substantial investor conviction, while the next test is whether Fasset can scale stablecoin-based financial infrastructure without weakening the controls required for institutional-grade settlement.
